The best attitude to take with your experiment is one of open-mindedness. You’re more than likely going to encounter small hiccups throughout your research, design and generation of results – it happens to the most experienced scientists. It’s how you handle these minor blips and slips that determines your project’s success, and more importantly, how you feel about your effort at the end of the project. Remember to stay positive, to be sharp and to listen to your mentors and partners. When life gives you lemons, make lemon-aid. When your experiment gives you an unplanned development, treat it as a surprise party for yourself (or team) and have a good time unwrapping the issue.
